Satipaṭṭhāna Sutta - the Direct Path to Realization - Study & Meditation Course
**Places limited, please book early. Latest date for booking: 3pm Wed 14th April to ensure that we have time to send you the Zoom link**
“Bhikkhus, this is the direct path for the purification of beings, for the surmounting of sorrow and lamentation for the disappearance of pain and grief, for the attainment of the true way, for the realisation of Nibbāna – namely the four foundations of mindfulness.” (MN 10. 56)
The Satipaṭṭhāna Sutta is the primary source for the Buddha’s teaching on the four foundations of mindfulness. We might well wonder how something as seemingly down to earth as mindfulness directed to the body, feelings and the mind could possibly lead to awakening and the realisation of Nibbāna. So on this course we will be studying Bhikkhu Anālayo’s clear and insightful commentary on the Sutta which helps to reveal the profundity of the Buddha’s liberating teaching.
Bhikkhu Anālayo also recorded seven led meditations to accompany the book and we will be using these to access the four foundations through our own direct experience.
You will need a copy of the book “Satipaṭṭhāna Sutta - the Direct Path to Realization” by Bhikkhu Anālayo. It is available from Windhorse Publications and can be found via the link below.
This course is not suitable for beginners but is open to Order Members, Mitras and anyone who has been practising for at least a couple of years.
