On the 30th of October it will be 4 years since the death of Bhante Urgyen Sangharakshita, founder of the Triratna Buddhist Community. I was fortunate to be at Adhisthana in Herefordshire where Bhante spent his final years during the final week of October and the beginning of November in 2018 and have strong memories of the extraordinary atmosphere there at the time. For many of us Bhante evokes strong feelings of gratitude and some will have fond memories of having met him. I am also conscious that for others their feelings around Bhante may be less straightforward and many people now attending the Centre will never have met him personally. Nevertheless his significance remains strong and without him we would not have the Buddhist Centre and wider movement that we participate in.  I hope that you will be able to attend the Centre on the 30th and that we will have the opportunity to connect with Bhante through meditation and reflection, poetry and ritual.
