Come to the First of Our Mandala Rituals at Dawn for Akshobya, Imperturbable Buddha of the Eastern Realm on Sunday 24 March. He is associated with mirror-like wisdom and his colour is a deep blue. His whole figure conveys unshakeable confidence, symbolised by the vajra. ‘om vajra akshobya hum’ is his mantra.
We will meet at the magical time of 5.30am on Whitlingham Lane (not the usual one in Trowse – but on the opposite side of the river, in Thorpe St. Andrew – see map) at the foot of the pedestrian bridge over the railway. Please consider sharing lifts. Then we’ll make our way to a chosen spot on the river where a short Akshobya ritual will be performed.
Following this, if you would like to, we can walk further along the river bank where there are some benches & have a packed breakfast (bring your own), enjoying the dawn chorus & early morning light.
Please also bring a torch or head-light, wellies (the path may well be flooded) warm clothing, packed breakfast/thermos and rain gear if necessary! Also an offering, optional, (to be thrown into the Yare).
Do come! It will be worth the early morning rise!
No need to book in advance, just turn up on the morning.
