Play in the Spiritual Life
As Dharma Practitioners, do we take ourselves very seriously? Maybe too seriously?
We invite you to a a very special day exploring how we can dance with life, and in our spiritual practice. In exercises taken from movement improvisation, writing and clowning we will meet in fresh ways in a community of fellow practitioners. There will be time to talk about what brings us lightness, or makes us feel heavy, and all of this will lead to and enrich our meditation practice.
Jayachitta, who lives in Berlin, has been a Buddhist practitioner since 1981. She has 25 years of experience in exploring somatic awareness and is highly trained in physical theatre, improvisation, and clowning. These practices are very important to her as additional approaches to the spiritual life, as they are based in physical expression and play. Find out more on her website: The Play of Now.
Sarvananda has written many comedy stories and radio plays and is also very interested in (obsessed with?) the links between Buddhism, comedy and ‘lila’ – or play.
The day is suitable for anyone who is acquainted with our two meditation practices. Please bring vegetarian, preferably vegan, lunch to share.
