Playmind – Turning meditation into our playground!
Silent meditation morning online with Vajraguptā, Sunday 20 October, 10.30am-12.30pm
Why do we take ourselves so seriously? It’s because we believe our thoughts and emotions to be true. Indeed, our thoughts and feelings are a huge part of our identity. In this way we fail to see how transient and every-changing they are. As children we were spontaneous: Crying at one moment and laughing the next, we lived in a flow which becomes more and more static as we ‘grow up’. When we learn to meditate, we can have rather a fixed view of what meditation is, and our expectations of it. It might even become one more of the things on our ‘to do’ list. The antidote to all this is Playmind – meditating with joy, engagement, interest and a sense of humour. In this way we counteract the judging, restricted mind and learn to relax into the playground of our awareness. Join me for a morning of playful meditation. Suitable for everyone who is familiar with the meditation practice taught at the Buddhist Centre.
