Slow Stitching

We do everything so fast, there’s never time to work with our hands as we used to do for centuries.  So here is a small window to slow down and do something together, working mindfully and creatively with our hands –  knit, sew, darn, mend and extend the life of clothes with love.

Sinhadakini will demonstrate her sashiko mending which she has been using for some time, an ancient Japanese craft born of the necessity of scarce resources which was used to extend the life of work garments.  You can bring a project to start on the day.  In preparation, read here for full details of what you will need to bring and instructions:

There will be an iron.

Or just bring a project of your own, knit, darn, embroider, mend etc you would like to work on.

See you on Saturday 20 April to work together with our hands, slowly with love.
