This will be a special day of meditation, reflection and discussion of this wonderful and important text which gives a complete guide to the awakening of the heart of enlightenment.  When we study the Bodhicaryavatara, we are opening ourselves up to something sublime, something which comes to us from another dimension, the Bodhicitta.

The Bodhicitta is not to be found in the Five Skandhas, it’s not anything of this world at all.  As Sangharakshita told us, it represents the eruption of something transcendental in the mundane, a transforming, transfiguring eruption of the union of emptiness and compassion, wisdom and compassion. It is something which becomes the force and impetus leading to the liberation from suffering of all living beings.  It is not an experience individual to one person.  It manifests wherever a kind and intelligent action is performed.
