Daytime Dharma Study – Part 1

The Way of the Bodhisattva

On this extended course we will using Pema Chodron’s commentary to explore one of the classic works of Mahayana Buddhism, Santideva’s The Bodhicaryavatara (the Way of the Bodhisattva). Santideva’s work is a detailed exploration of the training that the aspirant needs to undertake to realise the six perfections (generosity, ethical conduct, patience, perseverance, meditation and wisdom) in order to become a fully realised Bodhisattva.

Pema Chodron’s splendid commentary (set out in her book No Time to Lose) provides an accessible, down to earth approach to Santideva’s work and provides both guidance and inspiration as to how we might seek to develop the six qualities in our everyday lives.

You will need to obtain a copy of No Time to Lose which we will be working through week by week.
