The Signless and the Deathless – On the Realization of Nirvana 

On this course we will be studying Bhikkhu Analayo’s new book “The Signless and the Deathless – On the Realization of Nirvana”. 

The Signless is a continuation of Analayo’s exploration of the meditative arc which begins with the “empty” states of infinite space, infinite consciousness and nothingness as laid out in his earlier book “Compassion and Emptiness in Early Buddhist Meditation”. 

Nirvana, the final goal of the Buddhist path, is according to Analayo realized by “a complete stepping out of the way the mind usually constructs experience”. 

This course is suitable for experienced practitioners who are familiar with the earlier work cited above or Bhikkhu Nanananda’s “Nibbana Sermons.” 

We will use some of the led meditations that Bhikkhu Analayo provided to accompany the earlier work. Practising these in our own time they will help to inform our discussions.
