Dharma Day Festival 2026

Six weeks after celebrating Shakyamuni Buddha’s Enlightenment in May, on this day we’ll be celebrating the Buddha’s Turning of the Wheel of the Dharma. That is to say, when he first communicated his experience to others.

The first part of the day will include meditation led by Satyadaka and a talk by Bodhivajra. After lunch, we will be welcoming back Samudracandrā and Kamalasakhī, our two new Dharmacharinis, and hearing a little bit about their experiences on their ordination retreat.

Programme

9.45am: Doors open for prompt start at 10am

10am: Welcome and meditation

11am: ‘The Sutra of your Life – a talk on Form and Emptiness’ – keynote talk by Bodhivajra, followed by discussion in small groups and a short meditation

1pm: Lunch – please bring vegan lunch to share

2pm: Welcoming our two new Dhamacharinis, Samudracandrā and Kamalasakhī

4pm: Clear up and depart
