Six Tuesday Evenings (7-9pm) starting 31st January 2023 -please note there will be no class on 7th March.
This course is suitable for those new to Buddhism and those with more experience.

The Buddha said, ‘Just as the mighty ocean has but one taste, the taste of salt, so the Dharma (the Buddha’s teaching) has but one taste, the taste of freedom’. This January, discover what Buddhism says about finding freedom through working with our minds.

The point of Buddhist practice is to free ourselves from whatever keeps us trapped in a mundane and repetitive cycle and to experience for ourselves real freedom and happiness which is not dependent on things going well in our lives. But how do we do that, and what does real freedom mean?

We experience everything in our lives through the lens of our mind, meaning that the state of our mind is the state of our lives. This means that through transforming our minds, we can transform our lives! In this course we will explore this by looking at a pivotal point in the Buddhist path – stream entry – where it is said we finally break through the “fetters” that hold us back from reaching our full potential. We will take a good look at these “fetters” and see how they play out in our lives, both individually and collectively, and we will explore ways in which we can loosen, and eventually break them.

This course will be led by experienced Buddhist practitioners. There will be talks, discussion, meditation and opportunities to practice and explore in our daily lives. Through this time together, we will get a taste of freedom and happiness which is not dependent on things going well in our lives.

Participants will receive a link to the ebook ‘A Taste of Freedom’ as part of the course.
