Join us for this special once in a lifetime event

Arrive 1.45pm for 2pm start – 9pm, drop in during the afternoon and/or come to the evening; better still come and celebrate the whole thing with us.
Bring food to share for the evening meal and please bring lots of cakes to celebrate this 100th Birthday!

We will be celebrating the unique contribution of our founder Sangharakshita (b.1925) with a mix of online screening (2pm – 4.45pm) and live in-person events (5pm – 9pm) both at the Norwich Buddhist Centre.

You are warmly invited to come to any part of this event. The afternoon screenings will be on a drop-in basis, but please book for the evening.

From 2pm online live screening of the celebration events at Adhisthana

2.00pm: Reimagining Buddhism: Understanding Sangharakshita and his Teachings. We hear from Vishvapani, author of the recently published Reimagining Buddhism, an in-depth exploration of Sangharakshita’s life and teachings.

In this interview, Vishvapani will discuss Sangharakshita’s pivotal early years living as a monk in India before the founding of Triratna Buddhist Community.

3.45pm: Celebrating Sangharakshita with Parami & Subhuti. Parami and Subhuti, two disciples with a long and close association with Sangharakshita, together reflect on his life and qualities.

7.00pm: Archive film on the early days of Triratna

8.15pm: A programme of readings and mantras celebrating milestones in Sangharakshita’s own spiritual journey
