Song of the Elements

Press pause on your breathless rushing; leave behind your to-do list and step into green; into the flow of life in the woods.  Come to rest in the sunshine on warm earth.  Listen to birds; to the wind in the trees; the crackle of fire, relax into spaciousness of the broad, Norfolk sky.

The above gives a little taste of what this special weekend holds for us at Whitwell Hall, a new venue of the NBC, though only six miles away.  We need to listen carefully to hear the Song of the Elements, and we will be helped by journeying in small rituals through the delightful portals of the mandala of the Five Buddhas, each of whom has their corresponding element.

Accommodation is dormitory style. You will need to bring all your own bedding, as only a top sheet is provided. Old-fashioned simplicity is offset by 40 acres of Summer woodland which Whitwell Hall offers us.

This retreat is suitable for regular Sangha members and anyone who has done at least one course with Norwich Buddhist Centre. The food will be vegan.
